Biography
Isabel Baynum
Hello -
I am Isabel Baynum, a senior at Wakefield School in The Plains, Virginia. Before moving to Wakefield, I attended Salem High School in Southwest Virginia where I grew up. Following my graduation, I will be attending Suffolk University in Boston Massachusetts where I plan to study government with a concentration in law and public policy. Throughout my life, I have been interested in the ethics that surround our society and the treatment of the less fortunate. Through these interests I have become increasingly vocal about my beliefs, both socially and politically, as I aspire to insight change toward the treatment of these populations.I hope to utilize my interests as I continue my education by advocating for those to do not have a platform. Â
Homelessness became of interest to me, after moving to Northern Virginia and noticing how there was an increased rate of homelessness in the communities around me. I felt compelled to do something especially after observing the desolate conditions of homelessness in the nation’s capital because it seemed that no one else wanted to. I provide meaningful help, but I also was interested in the origin of the epidemic.
